do the next brave thing
Desperate times call for creative—not desperate—measures.
But, if you are anything like me, you may be having days were you feel desperate.
All of the above.
And yet, we cannot, under any circumstances, give up.
Now is the time to stand in the center of our courage, to reinvest in possibility, and to RISE, even when it feels impossible.
Now is the time to reinvigorate our hope and stop ::
- counting our individual actions as meaningless and insignificant
- letting doomsday rhetoric depress and deplete our energy
- shirking personal responsibility
- trying to get activism perfect and right
Focusing on the size of the mountain can be overwhelming.
Obsessing about trying to do the right thing can keep us stuck in the perfectionist and hopeless non-doing forever.
But we can invoke our warriors—the parts of us who have boundless energy to keep going when we feel we cannot—to keep us focused, deliberate, and energized.
Our warriors empower us to rise each morning and do the next brave thing.
Even if we are not certain it will work.
This is a way forward.
We need a way forward.
We are stronger than we think.
By signing up for #Turnthisthingaround you will...
- Solidify your personal commitment to showing up for the seven days
- Receive 7 emails with guidance and inspiration
- Receive the 33 Action Ideas to Turn This Thing Around (a document with resources, links, and ideas for small but mighty acts you can do to move us forward—which you can also access directly by clicking the button below).
Now is precisely the time when we get to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear.
how it works
1. Daily email
Each day you'll receive a short email with a quote, a few thoughts and 3 specific action ideas.
2. Take Action
Each day you'll commit to doing at least one small but brave action—one of the suggestions or anything YOU feel inspired to do.
You may feel more energized when invited to discover NEW ways to use your talents and hearts rather than execute items off a list, or you may prefer a more structured approach—both are wonderful and encouraged.
3. Pass it On
We will use the power of social media to amplify what we are doing—using the hashtag #turnthisthingaround to ignite each other and others in our communities.
I will be posting daily on Instagram, and will encourage you to tag me in your posts so I can share your work.
The community dare is to focus on raising our collective vibration and leveling up our own personal bravery and commitment—without using the patriarchal operating principles of shame, competition, judgment, over-exertion, perfectionism, and guilt.
Let's flood our local and digital communities with high-vibe brave and creative action.
Together we will transform our grief, rage, and stagnation into light, alignment, and collective action.
We will stay radically tender and as awake as we are able to be.
We will cultivate joy as we go—not to disregard the gravity of what we are fighting for, but, rather, as fuel to warrior on.
We will rest when we need to because sacrificing our bodies in this fight is only perpetuating the patriarchal patterns that got us here in the first place.
We can use our courage and creativity to do what we can with what we have to rise up.
You are resourceful, imaginative, and stronger than you think.
More is possible than any of us can imagine.
Compounding our courage and collective energy will be better than staying stuck in despair.
And it might be miraculous.
Blurry eyes. Creative hearts. Can't lose.
I believe in us.
